The PIR 7000 is a SIL 2 approved explosion proof infrared gas detector for the continuous monitoring of flammable gases and vapours. With a 316 stainless steel enclosure and drift free heated measurement optics, it is built for the harshest industrial and offshore applications.

Based on patented innovations, the Dräger PIR 7000 combines maximum light-efficient optics with a signal-stabilising 4 beam technology. The double-compensating optical system is highly resistant to interference from dust, dirt, fog, or other external effects on the optical surface. Due to its non-imaging nature, the measuring signal of the Dräger PIR 7200 is unaffected by partial beam block, this ensures immunity from false alarm. Two models are available with different measuring wavelengths; this enables the broadest possible range of detectable substances without compromising accuracy.
